GAMA commenced its contracting activities in 1959. In 1970, GAMA Industrial Plants Manufacturing and Erection Inc. (GAMA Industry) was established and has grown remarkably by completing more than 300 large-scale projects in Turkey and at abroad, and became one of the pioneering firms in its sector.
GAMA Industry is specialized in the engineering, material procurement and construction of thermal and hydroelectric power plants, refineries, petrochemical plants, cement factories, metallurgical plants, water and wastewater treatment plants, pipelines, business and shopping centers, residences, hotels, social and cultural centers, health facilities, dams, subways, infrastructures etc. Starting from 1976, GAMA Industry extended its activities to overseas countries, and completed numerous projects in Middle East, Asia, Africa and Europe.
GAMA Industry has played a leading role in many fields in Turkey by undertaking important and significant projects, and acted as the parent company for the establishment and development of several GAMA Holding companies through its investments and overseas activities. Among GAMA Industry’s completed projects there are many ‘firsts’ for Turkey: the first high pressure pipeline (Murgul-Hopa Concentrated Copper Pipeline); the first undersea crossing pipeline (Bosphorus Crossing); the first ash dam (Soma-B Power Plant Ash Dam); the first Flue Gas Desulphurization Plant (Çayırhan Power Plant); the first metro system (Ankara subway); and the first large-scale Built-Operate-Transfer (BOT) Project (Birecik Dam and Hydroelectric Power Plant), etc.
