Hero was founded by Simon Dent in 2021.
Simon qualified as a Lawyer in 2001 and worked at a number of top City Law Firms before realising he had a passion for entrepreneurship.
In the last twenty years, Simon has launched and sold a talent management business (sold to InterTalent Group, formerly ROAR Global https://www.intertalentgroup.com/) and most recently, built a creative agency called Dark Horses (www.darkhorses.com). Dark Horses work with some of the biggest brands in the world including Nissan, Peloton, Puma, Just Eat, TikTok and Under Armour.
Simon stepped down as the MD of Dark Horses in 2020 but remains a significant shareholder. In four years, Simon built Dark Horses from one employee to fifty with a turnover close to £4m. In 2019, Adweek voted Dark Horses the 5th fastest growing agency in the world. In 2019 Campaign Magazine voted it one of the Best Places To Work in the industry.
Prior to working in the world of talent management and advertising Simon owned a sports memorabilia gallery in Covent Garden which he sold to The British Sports Museum (www. britishsportsmuseum.com).
He also founded a publishing company called Libros International that had two Sunday Times Best Sellers (Do The Birds Still Sing In Hell By Horace Greasley and Race Against Me by Dwain Chambers).
Simon has never been far from his love of managing well known sports personalities. In the last fifteen years he has managed the careers of Chris Kamara, Jimmy Bullard, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Nick Easter, Vinnie Jones, John Barnes and Martin Offiah, to name a few.
