The European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals (EACTP) is an independent organisation created to establish the first ever European-wide accreditation programme for all turnaround professionals across the continent. Our pioneering programme aims to promote high standards in turnaround management by delivering a respected pan-European certification scheme based on the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) Global Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) programme. The EACTP accreditation provides an industry standard kitemark of quality in the practice of turnaround and restructuring, and acknowledges the increasing significance of turnaround management as a specialised profession with specific skills. Joining the EACTP and becoming a certified turnaround professional helps give our members a professional edge in a competitive field, and provides prospective clients with an instantly recognisable assurance of their turnaround credentials. Our certification programme is open to all professionals involved in turnaround management, including lawyers, bankers, accountants, insolvency practitioners and managers. Leading turnaround professionals from across the continent sit on our executive board and committees to set strict admission criteria and oversee the stringent certification process. The EACTP is currently allowing senior professionals with a strong turnaround record to be certified on the basis of their experience without examination qualification. Applicants need to demonstrate technical expertise and practical experience by providing case studies and references in which they had substantial and significant influence in the turnaround and restructuring of under-performing and distressed business in Europe. Entry through demonstrated experience will end in 2015 when all applicants will be required to pass examinations in the three core turnaround and restructuring disciplines of finance and accounting, turnaround management and law.
