Libertas treatment centers treat and educate adolescents, adults and families who experience problems related to alcohol and other drug abuse. The mission of Libertas is to provide chemical dependency treatment, to relieve the pain and suffering of the dependent individual and that of the family, and to provide skills necessary to cope with the disease so lives are more manageable.
The inpatient treatment program, based on the philosophy of Alcoholics Anonymous, is a medical model with a physician serving as medical director. Alcoholism and drug addiction are viewed as highly treatable diseases. Each treatment plan incorporates a multi-disciplinary team of professionals including a certified counselor, physician, nurse, psychologist, and social worker.
On March 1, 2016, all three Eastern Wisconsin locations (Green Bay, Marinette and Sheboygan) of Libertas became a department of HSHS St. Vincent Hospital, which is licensed as a satellite hospital for chemical dependency treatment. Libertas will also serve HSHS St. Vincent Hospital’s sister-hospitals within Hospital Sisters Health System – Eastern Wisconsin Division: HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay, HSHS St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan and HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.
