Every item purchased Ceiphers Clothing donates $1 to Nyaburi Primary School in Kenya.
A collection of inspired creations – intertwining American street wear with African culture by adding a vibrant pop of kitenge fabric to classics like bow ties, dress shirts, pocket tees, and hoodies. Kitenge fabric is a bright, colorful fabric, usually meant to commemorate a special occasion. These simple flashes of bright Kenyan cotton allow Ceiphers Clothing to stand out from the customary pack with uniquely compelling visuals.
OUR WHY: Salome Olweya, Ceiphers' grandmother, grew up among the poor in rural Kenya without education. She had her first career by the age of 13, and spent most of her time putting food on the table and taking care of her family--but none of that diminished her dreams; Instead, her struggles only added fuel to her heart. By the time she retired, she'd dedicated the rest of her life to improving the education system within her community. She co-founded Nyaburi Intergrated Primary School for children with disabilities in Kenya in 1984. This is where we come in: Since her passing, my family has continued to keep her legacy of philanthropy alive by finding donors and sponsors for the school. Over time through my grandmother's contribution, the contributions of our family, and our donors and sponsors contributions we've been able to have a tremendous impact on the live of disabled youth in Nyaburi and neighboring communities. Today, Nyaburi School is home to over 432 students between 1st and 8th grade and 112 students between Pre-K and kindergarten. We are able to continue funding the school through the support and generosity of individuals like yourself. We care about making sure kids everywhere get the care they need--we just happen to make excellent clothing in the process.
