JS Agriculture have been carrying out grounds maintenance and agricultural contracting in the south east of England for over twenty five years and now cover the whole of the UK.
Formed in 1982, the Company initially carried out grounds maintenance for small private clients however, within a few years they were carrying out work for major commercial companies such as British Gas Transco. Over the course of time, John Straka, the Managing Director of JS Agriculture realised that they had to specialise to expand the business. John grew the business by specialising in using its large agricultural machinery on other landscape and grounds maintenance work. Massive investment in machinery, equipment and training took the company to the next level and launched us into the twenty first century. Landscape Maintenance contracts include several Blue Chip companies Headquarters such as Symantec, Quintiles and The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development as well as Broadlands Business Park and Solent Business Centre.
Currently, the nature of the work spans a wide range of land based husbandry services and includes specialist Conservation Management in sensitive areas and Railway De-vegetation. JS Agriculture is one of the few specialist contractors operating agricultural and landscape machinery ‘airside’ in the UK. We currently carry out grounds maintenance including grass cutting, selective and total weed control operations around runways and taxiways at Heathrow, Gatwick, Southend and Southampton International Airports. With the inclusion of several MOD airfields, it means that the total area worked ‘airside’ by JS Agriculture is approaching 5000 Hectares. John Straka has established JS Agriculture as the leading company for airside Grounds Maintenance work in the UK.
