The New Orleans Film Society discovers, cultivates, and amplifies diverse voices of filmmakers who tell the stories of our time. We produce the Oscar-qualifying New Orleans Film Festival annually and invest year-round in building a vibrant film culture in the South to share transformative cinematic experiences with audiences, and connect dynamic filmmakers to career-advancing resources.
The New Orleans Film Society (NOFS) was founded in 1989. 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the New Orleans Film Festival, which has grown into a major showcase of local, regional, national, and international films. In addition to the annual New Orleans Film Festival each fall, the NOFS hosts special events throughout the year, the French Film Festival, and other events designed to benefit local film audiences, artists, and professionals. The NOFS also partners with local organizations to present monthly film series at the Contemporary Arts Center, the New Orleans Museum of Art. Throughout the year, the NOFS reaches approximately 40,000+ people through its programming.
NOFS offers filmmaker development programs such as the Emerging Voices program and Southern Producers Lab for local diverse and emerging filmmakers as well as filmmakers from the American South.
The New Orleans Film Society is a 501( c )(3) organization and a portion all contributions are tax deductible.
