STREET POETS Inc., a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization, harnesses the healing power of poetry and music to build community and inspire our next generation to write, rap and dream a new world into being for us all. Street Poets facilitates writing workshops in schools, probation facilities and community sites in L.A. County and beyond. We host community open-mics and pop-up creative uprisings from our Poetry in Motion van, and amplify youth voices via our recording studio and various social media/virtual platforms. We are a highly collaborative organization with a diverse range of partners including but not limited to Wolf Connection, Youth Mentoring Connection, Rhythm Arts Alliance, the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, Project Knucklehead, Wildlife Conservation Society-Rockies and the Arts for Healing & Justice Network (of which we are a founding member).
