The Domain Tennis Centre is Tasmania’s premier tennis facility, established on its present site in 1964 after moving from Creek Road, New Town. The Hobart City Council owns the site, which is leased to the Domain Tennis Centre.
With Mount Wellington/kunanyi as a backdrop, the centrally located facility includes a clubhouse with function and meeting rooms, bar, office, retail and member facilities in a magnificent setting overlooking the City of Hobart and the River Derwent.
A lively calendar of events sees the Centre host weekly pennants, social tennis, tennis programs and annual junior and adult events and tournaments. The Hobart International, which has been at the Centre since 1994, highlights the calendar annually and is a women’s lead-in event to the Australian Open.
The Centre has seven synthetic grass courts, six acrylic hard courts and five synthetic clay courts.
