The Midwest’s progressive Jewish summer camp since 1956.
CAMP TAVOR IS SMALL BY DESIGN,
with a maximum of 150 campers per session, a 4:1 camper-to-counselor ratio, and a strong commitment to an inclusive community. Habonim-Dror Camp Tavor is the ideal place to develop lasting friendships.
Campers from across the Midwest have gathered on the shore of Lake Kaiser since 1956 in our progressive Jewish coed setting to have fun being themselves while developing a strong sense of social responsibility, a connection with Israel, and a personal Jewish identity.
OPTIONS FOR EVERYONE:
We have programs one to 5-weeks long for campers entering 2nd through 10 grades.
Those entering grade 11 can travel to Israel with our National Movement. While entering 12th graders can spend the whole summer at camp developing and using leadership skills in our Madatz (counselor in training) program.
Camp Tavor offers the traditional swimming, boating, arts, crafts, and sports that other overnight camps have, plus Hebrew, a kosher kitchen, and Shabbat celebrations that other Jewish camps offer. But we’re far from traditional. We’ve got animals and an organic garden. We pride ourselves in helping the local community. We keep up with the news and politics in Israel, and we have so much fun that most of our campers return year after year!
