Porto Itapoá is considered one of the most modern and efficient terminals in Latin America, as well as one of the greatest and most important of the Country in the handling of container loads, according to the National Waterway Transportation Agency (ANTAQ). Ever since the start of its transactions, in June 2011, it has been a benchmark in sustainability, technology and customer service, being recognized in national and international awards.
With a private management team, its structure can handle 1.2 million TEU per year, and it is moving towards its final expansion stage, which will allow the handling of 2 million TEU annually. Located in the north coast of Santa Catarina, Porto Itapoá is positioned amongst the most productive regions of Brazil, contemplating importers and exporters from several business segments.
Its privileged location, near the calm waters of Babitonga Bay and with close access to BR-101, provides safe and eased conditions for cargo transportation and for receiving large scale vessels, a tendency that has been each time more adopted in world navigation. With a 14-meters-deep natural access channel, and 17 meters on the mooring berths, the Terminal relies on ideal characteristics for receiving and operating the biggest ships rotating the planet.
