First things first – welcome to The Middle Ground!
We are a space for everyone in the middle, somewhere in between the madness at both extremes. This includes people on both sides of an issue or anyone who isn’t on one end of a scale, like ultra-rich, or starving poor.
We want to serve a broad swath of people who are, for better or worse, regular folk like us who have normal concerns about real life issues and the main news points that affect our lives. We aren’t neutral by nature – we will take sides when it is necessary, but The Middle Ground is a place that is always in tension and always in flux.
It is a place where two sides can meet and be informed about opposing schools of thought. It is a place for moderate speech and agreeable disagreement. It is a place where we hope to foster a constructive, engaged and accountable citizenry, and we hope to do it by helping our readers come to well-informed conclusions and validate how they feel about things in a rational manner.
