MISSION:
Founded at UBC by female commerce undergraduate students, YWiB has grown into a leading community of empowerment for women at the University of British Columbia and beyond.
Reaching over 200 members on campus at UBC, Young Women in Business strives to empower a dynamic group of enterprising young women by uniting them through business education and experience. With 7 portfolios and 18 executive members, the leadership team of YWiB strives to develop programming that will introduce aspiring business leaders to the diverse range of opportunities in business.
Young Women in Business provides an empowering and collaborative community for young, emerging female leaders. We believe in helping every woman and young professional learn and develop new skills, take on challenges, and grow their network in order to reach their fullest personal and professional potential through workshops, networking events, volunteer opportunities, and a mentorship program. Our aim is to foster a network of support and partnership for ambitious women to become successful in their careers.
WHAT WE DO:
As an organization we strive to connect women of all backgrounds, faculties and areas of academic study over the common bond of personal development and a love for business. Our programs and events aim to create an environment that engages women of all faculties and provides a medium for our members to gain skills, experiences and connections that they would otherwise be unable to attain. With a diverse membership base, the resources and events YWiB UBC provides are beneficial and relevant to students of all backgrounds. With a membership base, comprised of students from the faculty of Commerce, Science, Arts, and Land & Food Systems, we recognize the gap that YWiB bridges for our members and the power we have to bring together women from all backgrounds.
