The City of Mount Gambier is the local government body which provides services, infrastructure and facilities for 27,275 people as the second largest city in South Australia.
Under the Local Government Act 1999 (SA) Council provides waste, environmental and health management, local roads, building and town planning. In addition, Council also provides discretionary services including: animal control, community development and engagement, economic development, event support, sport and recreation facilities, The Riddoch Arts & Cultural Centre, tourism and visitor services, citizenship ceremonies, library programs and services, sponsorship and community grants, free public Wi-Fi, cemeteries and youth programs.
