SANASA, the largest cooperative enterprise in Sri Lanka, is nurtured by more than one million people. SANASA began its journey in 1978, with the reengineering of the Thrift and Credit Cooperative Model introduced by the colonial government in 1906, and the journey made ever since is filled with continuous innovation and growth. SANASA has a wealth of experience in inclusive development under many different regimes in Sri Lanka and therefore has numerous stories of cooperative enterprises and social enterprises to share with the world. SANASA International is seeking to learn from similar experiences from the world and we invite you to share with us your stories, the challenges you’ve faced, the innovations you’ve designed, and of course your victories in inclusive development.
