Founded by musician Michael Franti, and ER nurse, Sara Agah, the Do It For The Love Foundation grants live concert music wishes to people living with life-threatening illnesses, children with severe challenges and wounded veterans (including diagnosed PTSD). Any person – adult or child – diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition or children with severe developmental challenges are eligible for a live music wish grant.
Do It For The Love spreads the healing power of music that inspires hope, joy and healing. The concert and wish grant process is always powerful and sometimes the last memory the family will share together.
Since August of 2013, DIFTL has fulfilled more than 200 wish grants, nearly all of which included artist meet-and-greet experiences and VIP access. Participating artists have included P!nk, Bruno Mars, Andrea Bocelli, Christina Perri, Beyonce and Jay-Z, among many others.
“I don’t know if music can change the world overnight but I know that music can help someone make it through a difficult night.” ~ Michael Franti
“Through Do It For The Love we want to provide the opportunity for healing to take place, families to bond, care providers to get a welcomed break and for lifelong memories to be made – all through the experience of live music!” ~ Sara Agah
