The Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, with its own board. It is based in Rome and operates on a permanent basis. The Permanent Secretariat organizes the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, internationally recognized as among the most important annual events in the field of peacemaking. It has been attracting Nobel Peace Laureates, high-profile leaders, organizations, students and professors from around the globe since 1999. The Summit is organized in different locations across the globe with the support of a number of Nobel Peace Laureate foundations and organizations, and in partnership with hosting municipalities and prominent local foundations. The World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates features Leading by Example, an educational program for youths, which engages university students and young professionals throughout the world. The program curriculum features interactive workshops led by Nobel Peace Laureates, their foundations, experts, academics, and experienced young leaders.
