VOICES BOSTON choristers tour nationally and internationally, and perform a wide range of repertoire, from classical, to world music, to gospel and new music, and they present a fully staged opera every year. Throughout its history, VOICES BOSTON has collaborated with internationally known ensembles including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Musica Viva, Boston Pops and Boston Early Music Festival, as well as Chœur des Enfants de Montréal and the World Peace Choir in Vienna and Beijing. In spring 2013 VOICES BOSTON presented the American premiere of Raoul Gehringer's opera The Tale of Moby Dick, which the Boston Musical Intelligencer described as “a remarkable achievement, something of which any organization could be deeply proud,” and the Boston Globe called epic. The 2013-2014 season includes the World Premiere of Marco Pontini’s children’s opera The Luminous Moon. VOICES BOSTON serves 190 children ages 5-17, from the Greater Boston area, regardless of their financial circumstance. Founded almost 25 years ago as Performing Artists at Lincoln School (or PALS Children’s Chorus), VOICES BOSTON changed its name in 2014 to reflect its broader geographical reach and its national and international collaborations. Artistic director Andy Icochea Icochea joined VOICES in 2011 after serving for six years as Kapellmeister with the Vienna Boys Choir.
