Our Community LA (OCLA) is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit [501 (c) 3] that uses mobile and web-based resources to help youth/students, families and adults find the resources they need to build a life away from poverty and facilitate positive change in their lives.
Our Programs:
1.WIN (What I Need)
A free Mobile Application, designed with input of homeless young adults, to connect Youth, Families and Adults in need to free or low-cost area programs. WIN empowers homeless or resource-insecure users to search 12 resource categories to find and connect with available supportive services. All programs listed in WIN accept clients without a referral. The searchable WIN app offers information and live connections to programs providing food, shelter, health/mental health, legal, drop-in/access centers, jobs, transportation, education, government benefits, hotlines, crisis supports and more. Use or Download WIN here: https://oclawin.org/win-app/. Want WIN in your community? Contact OCLA about a software license.
2.The Directory of Services for Homeless Youth, Families and Adults
This comprehensive directory of service providers lists basic services and other needed resources that can be accessed directly by users (without prescreening or referral). It serves as a resource guide for homeless or nearly homeless individuals or families in need as well as outreach workers, librarians, educators and others who seek to connect at-risk clients to services. Clients can use the PDF on OCLA's website. Hard copies are available for use in all LA City library branches, in many schools.
3. www.oclawin.org
OCLA's "one-stop" website hosts the web version of WIN, offers free access to the Directory PDF and regularly publishes news, community resources, and more to support regional nonprofits, homeless advocates, policymakers, and others.
4. Team WIN:
This internship program trains youth who have experienced homelessness in social media and community outreach skills
