HopeWorks is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which helps low-income, Snohomish County residents, achieve self-sufficiency through social enterprises that provide training and pathways to living-wage jobs.
In particular, HopeWorks targets individuals who now have a stable, affordable place to live through housing programs created in the County. The HopeWorks model is to establish social enterprise businesses embedded with training and skill building designed to produce income progression opportunities over time.
To date, HopeWorks has established three social enterprise businesses. The first social enterprise, GroundWorks Landscaping, was launched in January 2011. In March 2013, the company reached self-sufficiency through earned income! The second social enterprise is ReNewWorks Home and Decor Store, a retail high-end home furnishings consignment store with an online presence established in 2013 and currently located in HopeWorks Station. CafeWorks is our third and latest social enterprise established in January 2016. Also located within HopeWorks station, CafeWorks offers customers quality espresso, food, and meeting space while giving formerly homeless and low-income youth the opportunity to learn barista and culinary skills.
Our next expansion is HopeWorks Station II which will be a new 5 story building located right next to HopeWorks Station. It will have 65 units of housing plus commercial space for expanding our culinary training, including moving CafeWorks and expanded its operations. Groundbreaking coming in early 2018 and grand opening in 2019. With the addition of each new social enterprise, progressive opportunities in varying career fields are made available to more and more financially struggling adults and families.
HopeWorks is an affliate of Housing Hope and partners with numerous other community organizations to bring lasting impact to our community.
