Goodwill Central Oklahoma is a local nonprofit workforce development organization. From learning to earning, Goodwill empowers lives through whole-person support, education, training, and fair-chance employment, fostering a prosperous and sustainable future for all Oklahomans.
When someone is having a hard time finding a job — either because of a disability, poverty, or lack of education and work experience, Goodwill is there to help. Goodwill does that by selling donations in Goodwill stores and using the revenues to fund job training and career advancement programs that benefit hundreds of thousands of people each year.
With the help of donors, volunteers and advocates, the Goodwill works to give “A Hand Up… Not A Hand Out.”
To pay for its programs, Goodwill sells donated clothes and other household items in its ten retail stores. The organization also builds revenues, and creates jobs, by contracting with businesses and government to provide a wide range of commercial services, including janitorial work, security services, and recycling programs.
Through its services, Goodwill helps people overcome barriers to employment and helps people become independent, tax-paying members of their communities.
Established in 1936, Goodwill is now the largest non-profit provider of employment training services for people with disabilities in the state of Oklahoma.
