Alkemy Capital Investments Plc (ALK:LSE) is a London-based holding company which acts as an incubator for companies specialising in the critical minerals and energy transition sectors.
Alkemy currently has three wholly-owned subsidiaries, Tees Valley Lithium (TVL), Tees Valley Graphite (TVG) and Port Hedland Lithium (PHL).
Tees Valley Lithium (TVL) is a chemical refinery located at the world-class Wilton International Chemicals Park at Teesside, North East England, with access to the Teesside Freeport and offshore wind power from Dogger Bank. TVL will take feedstock in the form of lithium sulphate (from PHL and others) or technical grade carbonate from South America to produce low-carbon ultra-pure battery grade lithium hydroxide or carbonate for on sell to the burgeoning European battery market.
Tees Valley Graphite (TVG) is developing the UK’s first natural graphite active anode material (AAM) processing facility at the ‘plug-and-play’ Wilton International Chemicals Park within the Teesside Freeport, UK. TVG has signed an MOU to enter into a JV with global graphite leader, Syrah Resources.
PHL is a mid-stream lithium refinery located at the Boodarie Strategic Industrial Area outside Port Hedland, Western Australia. The facility will process spodumene concentrate from Australian miners to create a higher value, lower-volume intermediary product in the form of lithium sulphate, to ship to the UK for further chemical refining. The PHL facility provides a low-carbon value-add solution to spodumene miners who are looking to access the European market.
