Computers in datacenters and telco networks use roughly one-third of their resources for networking. Therefore, network technology vendors are building a family of network accelerators, often named SmartNICs, to offload network processing for servers' CPUs. But current SmartNIC solutions are hard to use and ill-suited for current highly dynamic cloud-native networking scenarios. Axbryd’s technology lowers the SmartNIC adoption barriers by supporting a Linux standard network programming interface and automatically generating workload-tailored software/hardware accelerators, targeting both ASIC and FPGA platforms.
Through the interwork of hardware designs and software components, Axbyrd's technology takes unmodified eBPF/XDP network programs and runs them on top of specialized hardware to accelerate its native instruction set.
