Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) is a Multi-Speciality National Teaching and Referral Hospital serving the Western half of Kenya (23 counties), Eastern Uganda, Southern Sudan, Northern Tanzania, and Democratic Republic of Congo amongst other areas with a population of over 25 million.
CORE MANDATE
The functions of the Hospital is enumerated in the Legal Notice No. 78 of 12th June 1998 under State Corporations Act, Cap 457 Laws of Kenya, are:
To receive patients on referral from other Hospitals or Institutions within or outside Kenya for specialized Healthcare.
To provide facilities for Medical Education for Moi University and Research either directly or through other cooperating health institutions.
To provide facilities for education and training in Nursing and other health and allied Institutions.
To participate as a National Referral Hospital in National Health Planning.
