The College of Computer and Information Systems (CCIS) was established at Umm Al Qura University(UQU) to recognize and cater for the significant and growing undergraduate applicant numbers in computing fields. CCIS brings together all existing computing departments of UQU and has embarked on an aggressive recruitment drive with the aim of maturing into the top national undergraduate teaching faculty, establishing graduate and Ph.D. programs of study, and building an internationally recognized research profile. UQU is located in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and is one of the oldest universities in the country. In September 2012, CCIS is due to relocate to a new purpose-built building comprising state-of-the-art laboratories and lecturing facilities as part of its ambitious plans to build a strong teaching and research profile. CCIS welcomes exceptional faculty from around the world.
