The Arabic Digital Research Institute (ADRI) is an international technology firm, striving to improve the digitisation of Arabic literature and its content around the world. ADRI will offer a package of services that will digitise and republish Arabic content including, but not limited to, academic and technology consultancy, online publication and republication and a subscription service.
ADRI’s mission is to provide an online digital platform that will host Arabic academic content from various education institutes and to build an academic environment online whereby researchers, students and education institutions can share, use and publish Arabic academic content.
A significant mass of the Arab population now has access to increasingly efficient and cost-effective digital technology, which has led to the reshaping of economic and social models to emphasise innovative methods of service delivery. However, the ‘lack of digital content’ in the Arabic language was identified as a top-three barrier to internet-users in the Arab region in 2014. Accordingly, Arab universities are yet to fully utilise technological advancements to enhance student experience and global rankings.
ADRI can remove this barrier, adding significant value to the Arab education system and introducing new dynamics by taking advantage of the latest technologies.
While ADRI is established as a private company, it is also an institute that prides itself on being a global environment where innovative resolutions strive to advance Arabic content to be researched and developed with local and international organisations.
ADRI is due to launch in 2018.
