Company Details
The Lebanese Muslim Association (LMA) was established in 1962 by a group of Lebanese immigrants, along with the construction of Imam Ali bin Abi Taleb Mosque of Lakemba, completed in 1977. The organisation has been in operation for over 50 years, servicing the local established and newly migrant community by providing social, religious, educational and recreational services. The LMA currently runs dedicated programs supporting refugees and new migrants to Australia, programs to develop youth, build capacity within the community and promote social cohesion. The organisation also focuses on delivering key infrastructure services to meet the growing needs of the Muslim community such as; the construction of a residential aged care facility that aims to deliver a CALD service to the community, foster care service for Muslim children, educational services and a self managed funeral. This is an addition to political advocacy and media representation the organisation is involved with.
