Our vision is a world where grassroots LGBTQ+ political groups are united, strong, and impactful. We envision a future where anti-LGBTQ+ policies are political campaign killers in any jurisdiction and no school board meeting happens without someone present to stand up for LGBTQ+ kids.
We’re building a digital networking platform that enables these groups to collaborate, share resources, and recruit volunteers effectively, leading to long-term sustainability and significant positive change for the LGBTQ+ community.
The Stonewall Network is solving a problem that no one else has. We expect the positive impact of our work to be instrumental to the LGBTQ+ movement's electoral success.
We're connecting grassroots LGBTQ+ groups with each other and making them easier to find by everyday people who'd get involved in the political process if they only knew how.
There are hundreds of grassroots, volunteer-led LGBTQ+ political groups in communities across the US. Conservatively, we estimate that our project to establish a new network of these organizations will touch tens of thousands of new and existing volunteers.
A politically savvy person might not know that some or any of these groups exist unless they go looking for them, and finding them sometimes proves difficult.
Moreover, everyday people who aren't already steeped in politics face numerous roadblocks to finding active groups and successfully connecting with them.
We're setting out to change that, and we're already in action.
More than two dozen volunteer software engineers, UX/UI/product designers, data analysts and project managers are actively building a web-based, mobile friendly directory that enables organizations to be more easily found and volunteers to more easily find ways to volunteer.
It will also serve as a streamlined way for pro-LGBTQ+ campaigns to expand their GOTV (Get Out The Vote) operation by identifying and plugging in to local infrastructure that already exists.
