St Joseph’s Hospice is the Hospice for East London and the City. Established in 1905, we have been caring for people with life-limiting illness for more than a century and we're rooted in our community. We find out what matters to people and we help them live their lives to the full.
Who works at the hospice?
- Doctors, nurses, complementary therapists and health care workers, helping people cope with the symptoms of their illness, controlling pain and managing anxiety
- Psychologists, social workers, welfare advisors and multi-faith chaplains, helping people deal with the emotional, psychological, financial, social and practical issues
- Physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and dieticians, helping people to be as independent as possible, for as long as possible
- Counsellors and therapists, helping people cope with death, loss and bereavement
- Porters, domestic cleaners, kitchen and admin staff, working behind the scenes to provide the best care
- Fundraisers, IT, Finance, HR and others who raise money, manage our finances and look after our staff and systems
