Energy Future Holdings Corp. (EFH), created in 2007 when private equity firms KKR and TPG Capital and Goldman Sachs acquired TXU and its affiliates. EFH filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy restructuring in April 2014. In 2016, its retail and generation businesses spun off, and in 2018, it sold its transmission & distribution business to Sempra Energy. EFH no longer exists.
