Since 1967, the County of Summit Developmental Disabilities Board (Summit DD) has been helping children and adults with developmental disabilities. Currently, Summit DD serves more than 4,000 individuals with disabilities in Summit County. Throughout the years, the array of services and support for people with disabilities has grown. Summit DD assists people all through their lives, from infancy to retirement.
Summit DD offers early intervention programs for infants and toddlers with developmental delays, as well as transition services for students with developmental disabilities to vocational, habilitation and retirement programs for adults. Working with local businesses, Summit DD helps individuals with developmental disabilities acquire jobs and gain independence.
