The Department of Justice Canada works to ensure a fair, accessible, and efficient system of justice for all Canadians.
Led by the Minister of Justice, who is also the Attorney General of Canada, the Department of Justice strives to promote respect for rights and freedoms, the law and the Constitution.
Roughly half of the Department’s staff are lawyers; the other half includes experts in fields such as research, the social sciences, and communication, as well as paralegals and support staff.
