The Society of Cosmetic Scientists (SCS) is based in Luton and currently has 1000+ members, all highly qualified individuals with both academic and industrial experience in the field of cosmetics and its related sciences. The Society aims to support science education in schools, as well as research and collaboration that advance the science of cosmetics. It does this through activities that include publications, educational programmes and scientific meetings.
The Society of Cosmetic Scientists is affiliated to the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC)
As a not-for-profit organisation the SCS is governed by the SCS Council, the decision-making Board, which is made up of 9 ordinary members and 5 Officers of the Society, all of whom are elected by Full Members of the Society.
