Kokon is a professional market-oriented architectural firm that also specializes in urban design. The firm has its roots in the 1930s. Based in the Groot Handelsgebouw, designed by our founders Willem van Tijen and Hugh Maaskant, Kokon designs projects throughout the Netherlands. From small-scale development sites to large transformation projects and expansion plans, there is no shortage of variety! In all our projects the human scale is central; we operate strongly from the character and draw for creative, innovative, inclusive and representative designs. Our architecture bureau focuses on residential construction, care construction, urban development and transformation. Special attention is paid to both innovative projects, such as floating residences and 3D printing, and to the broad portfolio of national historic monuments.
