Family Promise of Morris County (FPMC) was founded in 1988 in response to the growing number of families experiencing homelessness in Morris County, NJ. Today, we provide a continuum of services to the community, for both families and single individuals, through our shelter, housing, and outreach programs. These include an emergency shelter program, a housing voucher program that consists of up to 40 vouchers from various government sources, transitional housing for those impacted by domestic violence, a drop-in center in downtown Morristown, a mobile outreach van, and most recently, affordable shared housing for single women.
FPMC mobilizes community resources and people to end the crisis of homelessness and housing insecurity faced by Morris County families and individuals; providing a continuum of services leading to self-sufficiency.
Family Promise of Morris County is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization modeled after Family Promise Inc. started in Union County in 1986. This program has been replicated nationwide, involving 180,000 volunteers from 6,000 congregations and organizations through over 200 affiliates in over 43 states and serving over 700,000 individuals since its founding
In everything we do, in every decision we make, FPMC will adhere to these values: The right to self-determination of the people we serve; Non-judgmental attitude; Family first, regardless of family status; Empowerment vs. enabling; Mutual respect and integrity.
