From humble beginnings in 1931, the Polish Table Tennis Association (PTTA) currently oversees 716 clubs with over 10 000 registered players.
Before the II World War the PTTA had its first success when Alojzy Ehrlich won silver medals in 1936, 1937 and 1939 at the world championships. Post-war the popularity of table tennis in Poland continued to grow, Polish competitors have achieved much success over the years with Andrzej Grubba, Leszek Kucharski, Lucjan Błaszczyk, Tomasz Krzeszewski and Danuta Schmidt-Calinska, Jolanta Szatko-Nowak and Natalia Partyka all contributing to the success of the sport in Poland.
The PTTA’s mission is to oversee the development of table tennis in Poland, whilst highlighting the importance of participation and fair play, at the same time providing a platform that allows Polish players to compete internationally.
