The University of Texas at Austin Charter School System is comprised of two independent school districts. The UT University Charter School (chartered in 1999) serving K-12 students in a variety of partner facilities across Texas, including: residential treatment centers, psychiatric hospitals and an elite gymnastic program. UT Elementary (chartered in 2003) is a researched-based demonstration school located in East Austin that was founded as part of The University of Texas System's Every Child, Every Advantage initiative.
