The Perron Institute for Translational and Neurological Science, formerly the Western Australian Neuroscience Research Institute, is Western Australia's longest established medical research institute and has facilities within the QEII Medical Centre and Murdoch University.
It brings together world-class scientists who have made ground breaking discoveries, yet it also has specialist neurology clinics with leading neurologists. This is its unique strength. The Institute provides a pathway for translating research into positive health outcomes for the community.
Its work helps those suffering from conditions such as stroke, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone, spinal cord injury and muscle disorders such as muscular dystrophy and myositis.
The Perron Institute has formal affiliations with The University of Western Australia, Murdoch University, the WA Department of Health and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. The Institute also has well-established links with universities and hospitals worldwide.
