nLabs was formed by a group of Northwestern professors and alumni collaborating to make electronics education easier, affordable, and accessible for everyone.
The company launched its first product in 2010: the nScope, a pocket-sized, low-cost oscilloscope that serves as the ultimate tool for students in electronics.
Our team felt that a cumbersome lab environment stunted the ability of students to be creative and learn design by iteration. Additionally, the startup cost for equipment is enormous. We aimed to change that and chose components that would provide tons of features without the hefty price tag.
nScope is so much more than an oscilloscope, providing everything an electronic student needs in one small package: a dual power supply, a function generator, and open API. Plus, it runs on PC, Mac, and Linux; so just download the software, and start building.
We are excited to share that the latest generation of the nScope is currently in development and on track to deliver an electronics education at an even lower cost and in an even better package than ever before.
