Our mission at Make Good Things Happen is to provide support to the maker community with timely, relevant and useful business advice in simple, easy-to-follow ways.
With membership to Make Good Things Happen, the independent art and design community of Australia can discover a collection of helpful resources to support their efforts as a small business via a subscription-based system designed especially for them.
Expect instructional videos, downloadable templates, timely advice, the ability to chat with other makers, interesting newsletters and practical hints and tips provided in an easy-to-use interface with exquisite branding.
“We worked hard to create an enjoyable online environment” says co-founder Renee Baker, “part of which was engaging Mel Baxter (aka Moonshine Madness) for the branding to bring something special to the community. We’ve formed an online home for makers to feel supported, connected and empowered to achieve their business goals.”
From product photography to website do’s and don’ts, managing your content strategy through to posting on social media, “MGTH” is the maker’s one-stop-shop for business educational needs.
After many years supporting their beloved community of makers, Angela and Renee, the mentors behind D’Alton Baker Productions are uniquely placed to understand industry needs. With working backgrounds ranging from multinational corporations through to Etsy and The Finders Keepers Markets, they’ve both experienced the highs and the lows and know the ins and outs of managing a small business.
Heidi Helyard, Make Good Things Happen ambassador and a successful maker herself, as a long term mentee of D’Alton Baker Productions has much to say about the value the duo provide.
“I can’t think of anyone better suited to produce this service for the Australian maker community” says Helyard. “These amazing women have given me such a sense of empowerment during their time as my mentees, anyone thinking of joining, go ahead and do it!"
