The survey is a project of the Human Productivity Lab, an independent research firm and consultancy that follows the emerging telepresence industry. Telepresence Options is a follow up to the Lab's 2006/2007 paper on the technologies of telepresence and the emerging telepresence industry: Telepresence, Effective Visual Collaboration, and the Future of Global Business at the Speed of Light.
