EDEX is a multi-stakeholder initiative promoted by the Royal College Union, the alumni association of Royal College Colombo, Sri Lanka. Launched as the annual social responsibility project of Royal College Union with the vision To empower Sri Lankan youth to be globally competitive EDEX has emerged from being an education and careers exhibition to a multi disciplinary voluntary service organisation that serves the nation with many value additions.
More than a decade ago, a passionate group of volunteers aspired to create a single platform to showcase the vast options and opportunities available in the global education market while providing the necessary guidance to attain the relevant skills development and training.
Envisioned to 'Empower Sri Lankan Youth to be Globally Competitive', EDEX was launched in 2004 as Sri Lanka's pioneering and largest educational expo. Over the years EDEX has brought in a myriad of value added initiatives, which offer connectivity and placements in the process of school to work transition.
Leadership provided to nation's youth by facilitating access to globally competitive knowledge and skills, leading to gainful employment through EDEX platform for more than a decade is indeed unparalleled.
EDEX aims to create conditions that promote equity and meritocracy in the country, empower aspiring youth to believe in their abilities and skills as the most sustainable option of upward social mobility and contribute to the greater cause of nation building.
Its ability to constantly innovate and improve on its own benchmarks has been a cornerstone of success for EDEX and its stakeholders. Ambitious, persistent and innovative, together we have made EDEX a success story of Social Entrepreneurship in Sri Lanka
