We think of ourselves as a »community of learners«, committed to the aim of continuous improvement, which has been such a feature of the school since it opened in 1996. We are fortunate in having a team of outstanding teachers from many cultural backgrounds united in our goal of making DIS a place where students receive just the best possible education we can give them. We are a school where the creation of a strong professional culture has been our priority. Good pedagogy matters to us, supported by appropriate professional development and a sharing of good practice. We set ourselves high standards as teachers and we expect the same from our students. We also understand that, while academic rigour is important, a child also needs a broad and balanced education in a secure and caring environment. We are always looking to enrich the experience of our students through co-curricular and community service opportunities, understanding our responsibility to prepare them to be effective citizens in tomorrow`s world.
