About Us:
Voices of Tomorrow (VOT) was founded in 2012 by East African professionals who came together to achieve one goal: “Helping today’s children for a better tomorrow.” These professionals take pride in delivering comprehensive programming for childcare providers and families in King County’s diverse communities. VOT works closely with community partners to eliminate inequities in the early learning system which deeply affect our East African children’s growth, development, and academic performance. To achieve these outcomes, VOT is committed to increasing the quality in East African early childhood education programs through structuring programs, environmental assessment, and professional development for the childcare operators. VOT and its eight-member Board of Directors also seek donations and grants to financially increase child care programs’ ability to provide comprehensive early learning experiences for East African children from birth to 12 years. VOT’s services cater to low income East African children, families, and the providers who serve those families.
Purpose:
We believe that every child deserves a successful education and we are here to support that by:
-Supporting Early Childhood Educators to provide comprehensive and quality teaching opportunities for East African children through effective teaching practices through dual language, and culturally based curriculum and environment, and programming.
-Supporting parents to navigate school systems and understand their child's right to education.
-By connecting, collaborating and providing resources to varies community agencies and connecting to family childcare programs.
