The OHMI Trust's primary object is to enable full and undifferentiated participation in musical life for physically disabled people. Its work comprises:
• The creation and acquisition of musical instruments and enabling apparatus that are appropriate for individual disabilities
• Commissioning and undertaking research into instrument development, the barriers to participation, teaching methods, and the social impacts of our work
• Procuring instruments for the OHMI Instrument Hire scheme
• Supporting instrument lessons for disabled students (the OHMI Music-Makers programme)
• Lobbying government for policy changes to support fully inclusive music-making.
