Evanston/Skokie CC School District 65 is a K-8 school district serving more than 7,000 students from Evanston and small neighboring section of Skokie, Illinois.
The district has ten elementary schools, two K-8 magnet schools, three middle schools and other centers and schools servicing students with special needs and pre-school aged children. District 65 is a member in good standing with the National School Board Association (NSBA), Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB), the Minority Student Achievement Network (MSAN), the Consortium for Educational Change (CEC) which is affiliated with the Illinois Education Association and works to improve student learning and achievement, the local Joint Legislative Task Force (JLTF) comprised of district administrators, school board members and local citizens. District 65 does not engage in direct lobbying efforts but is a member of Ed-Red Illinois, an advocate for local suburban school districts in legislative matters related to education.
