KIPP is a national network of free, open-enrollment, public schools with a 20-year track record of preparing students in low-income communities for success in college and in life. There are currently 270 KIPP elementary, middle, and high schools in 20 states and the District of Columbia educating nearly 100,000 students on their path to choice-filled lives. KIPP’s current national college completion rate for all of our alumni is 36 percent. This is comparable to the national average for all students and approximately three times the national average for students from low-income families (about 12 percent).
Currently, we educate close to 400 students at our KIPP North Star (K-8) in North Minneapolis.
OUR MISSION: Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose—college, career, and beyond—so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.
