ASIA NOW Paris Asian Art Fair is the first art fair in Paris dedicated to the Asian scene and designed with a human size format that makes its specificity : each selected gallery presents a curatorial proposition (less than 20 projects) in an environment that allows in-depth relations with the key players of the Asian contemporary art world.
Opening up, breaking down the barriers, exploring, and sharing: ASIA NOW is an intimist fair enabling its audience to freshly reconsider contemporary Asian art.
In the face of commonplace shortcuts, this event is about giving the floor to artists, critics, and galleries who stand for, encourage, and promote this geography’s rich artistic scene.
With a consistent program of outstanding exhibitions, alongside engaging and relevant conversations, this event guides away from the beaten track. ASIA NOW wishes to re-ignite thoughtful exploration of the gaps, gray or unknown areas of the multifaceted reality at stake in this contemporary creation in motion.
The residual images that we all have on Asian contemporary art of which we basically often know more the market value than its actual scene, abundant, may have to be reviewed. Indeed, there may not be specifically Asian art as such, for art today is of course plural, open, nonclassifiable. It is precisely this incredibly vibrant yet almost imperceptible creative flux of which we hope to provide a faithful showcase.
At Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris, collectors, curators, institutions and art enthusiasts were invited, from 20 to 22 October 2015,with a special preview on October 19th, to attend a high-level artistic program conceived by pioneers and experts of this scene.
ASIA NOW is founded by Claude Fain and co-founded and run by Alexandra Fain. The art galleries selection was initiated and shortlisted by Ami Barak together with the members of the artistic committee.
