Singapore Energy Centre (SgEC)
Creating energy and sustainable environment for the future
Singapore Energy Centre (SgEC) is the result of collaboration efforts between Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), and founding members such as ExxonMobil to create a framework for a long-term research partnership that innovates the use of energy and develops the next generation of technologies. This is done to create profound impact on the grand challenges of energy today as well as on the generations to come.
The centre brings together academics from across two leading Universities and the numerous research institutes based on each campus and leverage on their expertise and facilities. Both the universities will work with leading corporate members, individually or collectively, on jointly sponsored research projects, with a focus on generating sustainable energy solutions with significant long-term impact on the quality of life.
Scientific pursuits are based on research themes such as materials, biosciences, carbon utilization, emerging energy technologies, environmental systems and data analytics. These are scientific themes which also bears significance for the neighboring countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
