The Institute of Precision Machining (KSF), formerly the Competence Center for Grinding Technology and Superfinishing, located in the south of Germany, is active in the research field of geometrically indeterminate and geometrically determinate cutting edges. Industrial companies usually have too little capacity to conduct independent research. KSF supports the companies with its existing know-how concerning new tendencies, technology transfer and carries out research in the whole field of machining. Every 2 years, KSF organizes the seminar "Modern Grinding Technology" in Stuttgart, which is one of the world's largest events in this field. Furthermore, in cooperation with Technology Mountains, we hold the Innovation Forum on Machining Technology every 2 years on a rotating basis. KSF also offers continuing education seminars for industry on an ongoing basis. The 4-day seminar "Fundamentals of Grinding Technology" offers interested parties from industry a theoretical and practical insight into the subject of grinding.
